Tōshi made more than fifty woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds, mostly in the 1970s and 1980s. Most of his flower and bird subjects were drawn very accurately which was fairly unique among late twentieth century Japanese artists. In his pictures a large plant typically appears in the foreground and smaller birds are either in the background or sitting on branches within the plant. Ten examples are shown in this gallery.
